The Faith Center:

The Kure Beach Faith Center provides a spiritual haven open to all people. Owned and operated by the 199 Lutheran congregations of the North Carolina Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, this beachfront property offers two floors of attractively decorated sleeping rooms, as well as a spacious meeting and dining area overlooking the sea.

Both The Bird's Nest (upper level) and The Starfish (lower level) feature connecting outside decks. Each level includes four bedrooms that sleep a maximum of six guests. Four rooms are motel style which could comfortably occupy a family of six. The other four rooms have a suite configuration with three beds, a sink and toilet. Each suite shares the shower with the other half of the room.

The dining/meeting space provides kitchen space for do-it-yourself meals or you may request food service from a local caterer.

Maximum occupancy: 48 youth (24 per level) or 12 couples (6 per level). Click here to view the floor plan.

Outdoor facilities include:

  • decks
  • outdoor worship area
  • conversation area lined with old plantation rockers
  • beautiful beach dotted with marine life

A deposit and refundable clean-up/damage deposit are required for use of all facilities in order to confirm a reservation.
The facility operates on a 365 day booking policy. In other words - the day you depart the facility you can leave a deposit to contract for the same dates the following year.

How to get there . . .
From the North: I-95 to 40 E to Wilmington, then 321S/College Road (as 40 ends), follow to 421S.
From the South: 17 N across Cape Fear Memorial Bridge (421S merged with 17 before crossing the bridge). Turn right onto 3rd street, which is part of 421.
Continue following signs for Carolina Beach or 421S.
From the West: 40 E to Wilmington, then 321S/College Road as 40 ends, follow to 421S.
From the East: I hope you have a boat or can swim…
Once on 421 South, heading toward Carolina Beach, continue south until you cross the bridge over the Intracoastal Waterway (approximately 10 miles from junction of 17 & 76). This is also called “Snow’s Cut.”

Bear to the right at the second traffic light after crossing Snow’s Cut, following the road that passes the water tower. There will be a sign that says Carolina Beach State Park. You are now on Dow Road. Follow Dow Road for 4 miles until you reach the traffic light, which is located directly in front of the pier. Turn right onto Fort Fisher Ave., and continue for ½ mile. On the left-hand side you will see the Faith Center, a two-story brick building with a cross on top.

Stay on 421 after crossing Snow’s Cut. Continue through Carolina Beach to Kure Beach. A couple of times along the way the road changes names until becoming Fort Fisher Ave., but is always 421. Continue straight through traffic light at Kure Beach (pier is on left) and continue for ½ mile. On the left-hand side you will see the Faith Center, a two-story brick building with a cross on top.
The address is 601 Fort Fisher Ave. Kure Beach, NC 28449

* For a timely check-in please call - Mike Goyne as you pass over the intra-coastal bridge on his cell phone 910.515.0793. He will meet you at the Center Building with your keys and the paperwork for your stay.*
