Agapé † Kure Beach Ministries offers financial assistance to anyone who cannot afford the full cost of an Agapé † Kure Beach Ministries sponsored overnight camp program. If you need assistance, please contact our office or your local Lutheran pastor. It is our desire that no child be turned away from a camp experience due to financial reasons. PROGRAMS FOR 2008:

YOUNG FOLKS 1/2 WEEK
YES, you are old enough to come to camp! You might be young, but you can do the stuff the big kids do. Your counselor (and new friend) will be with you your entire time at camp, playing games, going on hikes, boat rides, swimming in the pool, experiencing nature, and having lots of creative fun.  You will stay in a nice cabin suite with five cabin friends and your counselor. Your cabin is in the Lodge and has carpet, air-conditioning, and nice bathrooms. This is the perfect adventure for that first time at camp—two nights and two full days of camp at its best!

Offered to Grades 2 - 4   Week # 4-B (July 2-4)

CLASSIC CAMP room for 4 girls, room for 3 boys
This is a great opportunity to be with friends, both old and new, in a beautiful place. Your counselor will lead you through a week packed with exciting games, creative crafts, silly skits, journeys through the Bible, encounters with nature, captivating campfires, and discovery about God, yourself, and your friends.

CLASSIC QUICK room for 1 girl, boys full
Similar to CLASSIC CAMP above, but a in a slightly shorter experience. Arrive and begin your adventure on Monday afternoon and depart Thursday afternoon.

MODEL ROCKETRY CAMP
Blast-off for adventure! Spend several hours each day building rockets with Mr. Mike Elder, the Rocket Man. Rocket enthusiasts, male and female, learn skills for safe and successful launches. Let your faith soar, too, as you discover God through friends, fun, worship, Bible study, and many other great camp activities. The week closes Friday afternoon with a rocket launch for parents and friends. (Fee includes $25.00 rocket allowance, which buys you one or two rockets.)

Offered to Grades 7-10   Week # 7 (A) (July 20 - 25) FULL - focuses on moderate to advanced skill levels, but open to all levels.

Offered to Grades 4-8   Week # 8 (B) (July 27 – August 1) - focuses on beginner to moderate skill levels, but open to all levels.

NATURE! CAMP
You are invited to join our staff naturalist, Mir, on adventures of discovery among the trees, plants, streams, and stars of Agapé. You will meet amazing creatures of the day…and of the night. It is a week of natural delights for those who are fascinated by the awesome world of nature. This camp also offers swimming, recreation, campfires, worships, and small group cabin living.

Offered to Grades 4-6   Week # 8 (B) (July 27 – August 1) girls full, room for 4 boys
Cost: $370.00 if paid in full by May 4th, 2008 ($395.00 if paid after May 4th)

HORSE CAMP (for all riding skill levels) Both weeks FULL
Spend mornings at Saddlebrook Stables learning about horse breeds, tack, horse care and grooming, and don’t forget the actual time in the Western Saddle. Prepare for a horse show on Friday and saddle up to share quality time with a few close friends. Your home base will be Agapé. Your counselor will ride along with you through an exciting week packed full with creative crafts, silly skits, journeys through the Bible, captivating campfires, and discovery about God, yourself, and your friends. (Limited to 8 - 10 campers)
Riders of any skill level can be accommodated in any program week.

TRAILBLAZERS
Here is your chance to find out about the wild creatures that make their living after the sun goes down. Trailblazers is for those who want to get close to nature and are willing to explore at night. Mir, our staff naturalist, will lead you into the dusk and dark, marveling at the stars or identifying the sounds and creatures of the evening and night. This week will be packed with campfires, worship, games, swimming, group activities, and more.

OUTPOST EXPERIENCE
The Outpost campsite, set acres into the forest of Agapé, gives the opportunity to experience "camping" in its truest form. The usual Agapé buildings will be your base camp, while your true home will be tenting under the trees and stars. This week will also be packed with campfires, worships, games, swimming, group activities, and more.

CAMP FRIENDSHIP
Be a friend! Spend the week working one-on-one with a differently-abled adult camper. Join a small group of high school aged friends and learn what service ministry and being a real friend is all about. You arrive Sunday and your new buddy comes on Monday to spend four days with you. The week also has time spent on leadership skills, discernment, group building, and fellowship with the Agapé staff.

STAFF IN TRAINING (S.I.T.) - SERVANTS

STAFF IN TRAINING (S.I.T.) - LEADERS
This two-week leadership training opportunity contains all the fun of a traditional camp experience. You get a week of intense training similar to that given to summer staff. You can serve your second week at camp as a Junior Counselor in a cabin or develop skills in another area of the program. Help lead campfires and worships, and gain leadership skills useful in all aspects of life and ministry. BEACH BALL at KURE BEACH  - FULL
FORMAT CHANGE - This program now begins and ends at the Kure Beach site.
Follow the bouncing beach ball for a great week of growth and sharing with friends and staff. The week will begin and end at Agapé. The four days in-between will be spent at Kure Beach. It’s beach life and more; games, ghost crab hunts, a trip to the North Carolina Aquarium, beach volleyball, Bible study, and worship in a small group. Immerse yourself in the awesome love of God and the waters of the Atlantic Ocean. Limited enrollment space.
This program begins & ends at Kure Beach, closing at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday.

BEACH BALL ADVANCED room for 1 girl, boys full
This week begins Sunday and ends Thursday at Kure Beach.
Enjoy beach life including surfing, ocean kayaking, canoeing, and beach time. Hang out on the beach, walk to the pier and discover more about yourself as the waters of new life wash over you. Immerse yourself in the awesome love of God and the waters of the Atlantic Ocean. Limited enrollment space.
This program begins & ends at Kure Beach, closing at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday.
