Our beach front property offers two floors of attractively decorated
sleeping rooms, as well as a spacious meeting and dining area
overlooking the sea. The Center received a new roof in January
of 2006.
Both
The Bird Nest and The Starfish, the upper and lower decks, have six rooms
that accommodate up to six people. Maximum occupancy is 48 youth (24
per level) or 12 couples (6 per level). The dining/meeting space provides
kitchen space for do-it-yourself meals. Outdoor facilities include decks,
volleyball court, a patio, an outdoor worship center, and a conversation
area lined with old plantation rockers (not to mention beautiful beach
dotted with marine life). Let the rhythm of the waves lull you to sleep
during your stay at the conference center.

The
East Sand Dunes:
As wonderful as the setting of Kure Beach is, the buildings that have served guests for decades
are becoming increasingly difficult to maintain.
A stewardship opportunity has presented itself—rising property values have greatly increased the potential value of
our
vacant lot directly south of the Lutheran Center beachfront complex. The potential sale of this property, combined with
a designated portion of the GO CAMP! Building What the Church Needs! appeal, will allow us to replace East and West
with a modern facility to better serve our guests. This
facility will also allow us to be better stewards of the environment
and our financial resources as we replace poorly insulated buildings
running expensive cooling units with a properly insulated structure
running much more energy-efficient units.
Demolition of East and West is planned for late fall of 2007.

Floor Plan
This lovely, comfortable old beach house appeals to any group looking
for a
relaxing time away from home. Sand Dunes offers 5 bedrooms, 3.5 baths, a large,
fully-equipped kitchen, and a comfortable common room for recreation or
meeting space. Equipped with window unit air-conditioning and fully
carpeted, this house has a just-across-the-street ocean view. Maximum
occupancy is 20 sandy people, so bring your sunscreen and we'll see you
at the beach. There is a deck chair waiting for you.
East Sand Dunes is a seasonal facility, open April 1 to October 31
annually.

The West Pelican:

A charmer from yesteryear that has been beautifully renovated to suit
the needs of smaller groups or to provide a place for an affordable
family vacation. Contracted as a single unit, it includes 5 bedrooms,
4 baths, living room dining area, fully equipped kitchen, and kitchenette.
Maximum occupancy is 15 pelican watchers.
For smaller groups our Pelican Apartments provides the ideal spot for a summer get-away. Pelican A includes 2 bedrooms with sleeping space for 6 people, 2 full baths, and a kitchenette. Rented alone, Pelican B, apartment A's slightly more spacious neighbor, offers 3 bedrooms, 2 baths living room and dining area. Maximum capacity is 9 feathered friends.
Deposit & Contract Information:
A deposit and refundable clean-up/damage deposit are required for use
of all facilities in order to confirm a reservation.
The facility operates on a 365 day booking policy. In other words - the day you depart the facility you can leave a deposit to contract for the same dates the following year.

Helpful Tidbits:
Our kitchens are well equipped with pots, pans, utensils, dishes, etc.
-- you provide perishables, dish towels,
soaps, trash, bags, etc.
Linens are not furnished , so bring your own sheets, blankets, towels, and favorite pillowcase (pillows are furnished).
Bonus:
Children under the age of six (6) are our guests free of charge, because
we love little pelican watchers.
Family lodging rates are available.
