Our Seven Major Goals:
Resident Camps:
Come to Camp Agapé or Kure Beach for a small group fun experience with some of the greatest Christian role-models (counselors) you can find anywhere. Program group sizes are small, 8 - 35, with cabin groups of 6-8 campers per counselor.
Daycamps:
Bring camp to your own community! Day Camp is a great way to bring the talents and enthusiasm of a camp staff to your congregation. The Agapé staff will bring a wealth of program ideas along with a relational ministry style to meet your kids' needs. This is a five-day program designed for youth entering grades 1-5. Day Camp happens in your community or at your church. This year we hope to serve over 25 congregations of the Synod through this powerful community-based program.
Campfirmation:
A fresh, dynamic, experiential way of presenting catechetical material. The learning is intensified, and the community built and relationships forged are wonderful in helping your material mean something in daily experience. New clusters of congregations are forming. Class size is not an issue.
Servant Events:
Pastors and/or youth leaders! Hit the beach with your youth group and explore what it means to be a servant. Spend time working at different direct-service agencies in the Wilmington area and see the face of Christ in the faces of your neighbors. The week also has time spent on group building, surfing, exploring Wilmington, and hoanging out at the beach!
BYG Week:
Bring your kids, grades 3-6, for a week of camp and group-building. This experience will give them a support base and reason to choose the church when all those middle school choices begin pulling them in many directions. Bring a youth leader or pastor free and get to know your kids in a great, safe place-apart. Use our summer staff to help you build your group. It works! Ask those who have tried a week and keep coming back. (We host BYG weekends in the fall and spring, too.)
