CONGREGATION PROGRAMS: DAY CAMP, BYG, CONFIRMATION CAMP

Day Camp  Bring camp to your own community!

Day Camp is a great way to bring the talents and enthusiasm of a camp staff to your congregation. The Agapé staff will bring a wealth of program ideas along with a relational ministry style to meet your kids' needs. This is a five-day program designed for youth entering grades 1-8. Day Camp happens in your community or at your church. This year we hope to serve over 25 congregations of the Synod through this powerful community-based program. Call now to reserve your week!

FREE BUS INFORMATION AND CAMP FEES

happy kids on busRide the FREE Bus to and from Camp!

Save the travel time and give your children a safe, fun, camp experience!

Thanks to a generous grant from the Virginia Casey Fund, we are able to provide a free mini-bus ride to and from Agapé during designated weeks of camp this summer. Lutheran churches from selected areas will supply each
bus as well as a certified and insurance background checked driver from their home congregation. Two Agapé summer staffers will also be on board each bus to provide supervision and camp style entertainment during the ride.

FREE BUS RIDES are tentatively scheduled to run (one camp week) from each of the following locations:

Bus starts at: Gastonia to Mt Holly to Concord to Camp Agapé
Bus starts at: China Grove to Salisbury to Lexington to Camp Agapé
Bus starts at: Wilmington to Camp Agapé

FREE BUS RIDES are tentatively scheduled to run on the following camp weeks: (one departure from each location)

Week # 3 – June 24-29; Week # 6 - July 15-20; Week # 7 - July 22-27

Buses will depart the first loading location at about 12:30 p.m. on Sunday and return to the point of origin before 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

Requirements to ride the bus:

  1. We must have a minimum of five riders on each bus excursion and two staff. A maximum number will
be set as well. First come, first served will apply to the availability of seats. (So sign-up and round-up some friends to join you!)
  2. Camper must be registered for the week of camp at Camp Agapé for which the bus is traveling.
(Call or email camp by March 1st, to request a week and location. These can still be adjusted by interest in areas.)
  3. The bus will have three loading and unloading locations along its route each week.

Because we feel that the value of a week of Christian Camp is so important, we want to make it accessible to as many campers as possible. We are offering this service in order to make a trip to camp easier on parents and families. So sign-up, bring a friend or a bunch of friends, and ride the FREE bus to camp. Don’t delay – do it today!! Contact camp for details.

Camp Fees

What does a summer camp experience really cost? Each camp program we provide during the summer is subsidized by donations from individuals and congregations. Because of these gifts, the fee you pay to send your children to camp is a discounted rate. Camp fees include the cost of hiring, training and paying summer staff, insurance, food, facility maintenance, marketing, program supplies, risk management, utilities, and much more. (Specialty programs have additional costs, i.e.: Giddy-up costs us an additional $125.00 per camper to provide the services of a professional horse stable.)

This year for the first time we are posting the actual cost. For those who can pay the full cost of a quality Christian Camp experience we have provided that opportunity. We continue to offer the subsidized fee for a majority of our families.

Please find listed below the fee for each week of camp. We invite you to choose the fee that best fits your situation.

Camperships

Finally, we want to stress the fact that the David L. Castor Campership fund exists to help anyone make camp affordable. Simply request camper- ship assistance and we will do what we can to make sure everyone can attend a week of camp. Financial concern is never a good reason for denying a child the opportunity to experience the Spirit of God in a unique place apart under the careful supervision of a committed Christian young adult (counselor).
